Morning on the beach ...

There has to be a little advantage living at the sea and so I made my girls wish come true. Equipped with shovels and a coffe for me we went down to the beach. I also took a little work with me and so I could enjoy the sun, the coffe and listen to a wounderfull adventurous story throught the sandcastle :)

Splanc!

Two kids started summer holidays on Friday but it looks like the weather does not know that it is summer. It started to rain on Friday and it did not stop till now. It has been a long time since it was raining for days. But the rain does not stop us from having a BBQ or having a lovely evening in Birgids Garden like today. So we had a BBQ for lunch and in the evening we went of to Splanc! The evening started with a play  presented by Blue Teapot Theatre Company who lead us through the garden.

Following we had a wonderful and really exhausting drum lesson and the girls got acute face painting. After a little dinner we follwed the group again through the garden. The drummers also joined with the drums and singing and we all were dancing.

Slowly it was getting dark and so we went to the fireplace to light the bonfire. With a little singing the fires were enlighted.

In the end there was a little fireshow the kids had been waiting for. It was a really wounderful evening :)

An other school year is over ...

The second school year is over and tomorrow 12 am the school gate closes for the next 10 weeks. I hope they are busy and have a good summer so the new school building will be finished soon and the kids will have a good start and not to much noise in september. Just the little one has an other week left and I hope she enjoys to be brought by the brother and the sister. Today we got an the school reports and I love how the teachers characterize the kids!

my girl:
"R. is a very confident well mannered girl, with a very positive attitude to school. R. always contributes her very best right across the curriculum particularly in oral lessons. She is very capable i all subjects; her mathematical language is developing very well which should soon match other areas. R.'s written work is very good, completing tasks independently and quickly with a lovely cursive style. It was a pleasure to work with R. in First class."
Attitude to other people: VG - likes to be in charge - a natrual leader with good friends

my son:
"I. is a quiet well behaved child who asks questions and partakes in all class activities very well. He has made great progress this year. It is very evident that I. loves school. He asks intelligent questions if he is unsure in on effort to further himself and this has resulted in some fantastic exam results. I. should be very proud of all the hard work he has put in. I. is a vere cheerful boy who brightens up our class endlessly."
Gaelige: EX listening - I. finds Irish very easy and enjoys exploring new topics

The soccer player were invited to play at halftime at the match Galway United vs St Patrick. Unfortunately Galway lost but the kids had fun *g*

Dramaplay

On sunday my daughter had her dramaplay in the Town Hall Theater, Galway. After a lot of rehearsals and practising in the school and of course to have a look which costume would match the different songs and plays the day had come. At 11 am I brought her dressed in her first outfit (a cheeky school uniform) to the theater but we had to wait until 3pm to take our seats in the hall. It was a lovely afternoon and he did very well. It looked like she had fun because she was smiling (almost) all the time. After we had a real unhealthy dinner in a pub *gg*

Almost Summer ...

The last schooldays have started and it looks like we are all ready for holidays. It could also be possible that we just did not get enough sleep because of the moon ...

There are still some more weeks to stay until we are off to Austria and meet (hopefully) all our friends. I am so excited to see what happend in the last year. Till than there are some things to be done. The "teacher" from my little one is expecting a baby ... and so I am making an other "devilhat" :) She doesn't want to know if it is a boy or a girl so I thought yellow might be a good colour.

Because I had wool left and I everytime get cold feet I started to make socks ... but I dont' know if they ever will be finished...

Some weeks ago I started the starquilt but it did not grow a lot. Acutally it was started for the travel but I do not know if there will be a lot of time to sew. Others there will be enough classes starting in autum again where I needed to sit bored in the car ... wouldn't there be the quilt *gg*

Last for today I wanted to show you the kids from the 2nd class who used the No-Uniform-Day to get dressed in their Communionclothes.

There is an other project at fluffy sheep I would like to join but I have no clue what to make of 28 squares of japanese fabrics. Any ideas? I would not like to make an other handquilt *g*

Feis 2011

With all the dates going on the last week I totaly forget to tell you about the sucess from my big girl. She went to the Irish Dancing Feis again and she had a lot of fun there. She was dancing with a big smile in her face and after she got a trophy the smile did not disapear *gg*

Summer and Sunshine

When the sun in Ireland is shines you have to go out and so we went off to Birgid's Garden to enjoy a day with music. So we sat there in the sunshine with a little icecream for the kids. Sometimes my little girl was dancing in the gras :)

International Day in school ...

A lot of days and a lot of friends helped to prepare the international day in school so that the kids could present Austria. The posters were made in school with the support teacher. To eat they had "Topfenstrudel" and Mannerschnitten and I could not believe that they ate them all up.

And because it was such a lovely day yesterday I had to go to the beach with my little girl. I was amazing watching her running in and out the water *gg*

Playschool ...

As I said they ate all the Applestrudel in the Preschool. I never thought that would happen. My little girl also was dressed in her Dirndl and she was so proud. They also loved the "Geggis" they listened to on CD.

When she was in Preschool eating Applestrudel I was walking to town with my friend. It was an amazing day. I am so happy she told me to leave the jacket in the car because it was warm and there was (almost) no wind.

After a coffe break in the sun we bought the tickets for the Dramaplay in the Town Hall Theater and actually we wanted to go back with the bike but as the irish are not always the most accurate: the bikes were not ready. So we also had to walk back *gg*

Applestrudel

Applestrudel was our lunch for today. We are still preparing the multicultural day in school and so we had to try to make Applestrudel with the ingredients you can buy here. tomorrow the kids from Preschool will have a try and if they don't like it my little girl will also bring some "Mannerschnitten" *gg*
