Swaps and Presents ...

Lucky me! Sie hat getauscht. Dieser Stern ist nach Graz geflogen ...
When I was in Austria I was was lucky to meek Heike. A long time ago I made the Stars to practice paper piecing. It was fun and because I did not need the blocks I mad little blankets. When I saw the beautiful stuff Heike does I asked her if she wants to swap. She chose this little star so it flew straight to Graz ..

... and when I met her she had some necklace with her. I already chose one but she said you have to try them and decide. Luckily I had some ladies with me to help make a decision. That is the one I chose. I had an other one in mind but the girls said the red fits me much better.

I love it. Normally I almost never wear any necklaces and I don't like the heavy stuff around my neck but this one is absolutely perfect for me. The red ones are made of wood and the white one is made out of Fimo. I am sorry that you can't really see the lovely patterning on the white but it looks gorgeous! You have to believe me.

And because I do not have to do anything the next days - just making three blocks and prepare a tutorial for my block as I am bee queen and ... - I decided yesterday to join the Japanese Fabric Swap at Sarah. Actually I do not really like these fabrics. They are so childish and my kids are to old for them but to have a range of 56 little(babyish) charms in my stash is to tantalizing.

So now I have to search for matching fabrics. After I read all the comments in the flickr group - oh these ladies are cheeky and mouthy - I struggle: Actually what is a Japanese fabric? As I have to catch up I hope the ladies will help me choosing.

This is a selction I found in ONE shop and there are many more shops I have to look through. I love the Christmas one and I love frogs but Matryoshkas are beautiful too. But most important: are these Japanese fabrics the group is looking for?
