Oh what a day ...

Actually the plan for today was simple: shopping and sewing! So I started in the morning cleaning the table, taking the iron out and putting the sewing machine on the table. Fabrics sorted for some little gadgets and cutting for the Modern Irish Bee. Karen chose a lovely block and the fabrics arrived exactly on the 1st of February. So I put the fabrics on the cutting board when the cutter "kissed" my finger ... ouch ... I am so lucky as I have lots of plasters in my sewing box. The finger is a little stiff now but anyway I wanted the blocks to be done today! Back to work. Reading and cutting, sewing and reading, checking and cutting .. and there it happened! The cut was not in the middle :( Oh no!

Can you see it? The square in the middle is not equally divided. I was so cross with myself! So I finished the block, left everything on the table and went of to do the shopping. I also made a short (not successful - no batting) in town when I got a call from school to pick up the little one :( Oh what a day! After a small lunch she went on the sofa and relaxed when I got back to the sewing things. As they were still all on the table I started the second block.

This one looks much nicer and the center square is separated in the middle. I asked Karen  to sent some fabrics to fix the other block. It was fun to make it and now I know where to take special care!

The rest of the day was quiet as it should  be. The gadgets are still not made and put to the side again when cleaning the table but as it looks like she will be still at home tomorrow I can do them tomorrow .. hopefully!

  1. Sorry about your finger. I can sympathise as it seems to be the week for rotary cutter blades and fingers kissing. Interesting block. Hope the first one fixes up to your satisfaction, though it looks fine from here.
