Star and Stripes ...

Heute war ein richtiger Naehtag. Es hat geregnet, alle waren unmotiviert was zu tun und am spaeten Nachmittag stand noch eine Geburtstagsfeier an. Bis dahin konnte ich die Zeit nutzen und endlich einen der zwei Tablerunner naehen. Begonnen habe ich allerdings mit einem Wonky Star. Gingersnapquilts hat um Hilfe angefragt und weil ich doch den Stern so gerne naehe, habe ich gleich nach ihrer Adresse gefragt und drauflosgenaeht. Ich mag den so gern. Er sieht immer toll aus. Today was a good day for sewing. It was raining, cloudy and no one wanted to go out. So I could use the time and sew a little until the birthday party was on in the afternoon. I still have to make two table runners. But I started with a wonky star in the morning. I love them! They are so much fun. Gingersnapquilts asked for help today and because I love to make these stars I only had to ask for her address. So this is the one I made for her ...

Wegen dem bescheidenen Wetter gegen die Fensterscheibe fotographiert. Ich hab nochmal das Bella Ruby Ice verwendet, das fuer den July Block gefordert war und ich hoffe, er passt zu den vielen anderen Sternen und ergibt einen wunderschoenen, farbenfrohen Quilt. Anschliessend habe ich mich an die Stoffauswahl fuer die Tischdecken gemacht. Drei Kombinationen habe ich aus meinem bescheidenen Vorrat zusammengestellt.
Because of the crap weather I had to make a picture on the window. The background fabric is the left over ruby ice I had from the July Block. Now I just hope this little one matches the other stars. I hope she gets lots of them to make a lovely colorful quilt.
After a little breakfast I tried to find color combinations for the table runners. It is not so easy. I found three combinations I liked.

Ich mag orange! Die Farben leuchten total schoen (wenn  man fotographieren kann).
I love orange. The fabrics are bright and brighten the day (if you are able to make a good picture)

Ja und da war es wieder! Gruen :) Das sind nun wirklich die aller letzten Vorraete in gruen, aber bei Metro ist wirklich jede Farbe schoen. Ich weiss nicht, was sie zu pink sagt, aber im besten Fall landet der Tablerunner auf meinem Tisch (auch wenn ich kein Freund von Tischdecken bin)
Here it is again: green! No, I still don't like it ;) This are really the last two greens I have. I think they come together quite good with the pink. I absolutely don't know if she likes pink but if not, I will have a table runner (even if I almost never have one on)

Und da gibt es noch die dritte Farbauswahl. Ich soll zwar nur zwei naehen, aber ich geb lieber eine dritte Option zur Auswahl und wer weiss. Vielleicht tausche ich einen einfach ein!
Die orangen Stoffe wurden heute auch gleich vernaeht, waehrend die anderen beiden nur zugeschnitten wurden. Mit den kleinen Monstern rundherum dauerte das Naehen heute gleich noch ein klein wenig laenger. Immerhin musste ich heute um die Stecknadeln betteln gehn, denn bei so einem schoenen Muster konnte ich nicht einfach eine Nadel entnehmen und musste lieb fragen ...
This is the third combination I found. I just need to make two table runners but I like to give her different options. Maybe I swap one against ... We will see!
I already made the table runner with the orange fabric. It was not so easy with my little monsters running around. I always had to ask for my pins because I was not allowed to just take them. How could I even think about to destroy this beautiful art! I had to ask nicely and if I was lucky, I got one ..

Irgendwie scheint dieses Nadelkissen meine Kinder magisch anzuziehen. Ich gestehe allerdings, dass die Nadeln nicht mehr so schoen geordnet sind und dann doch noch ihren Verwendungszweck erfuellen konnten ;) Leider hat das Wetter bis zum Ende nicht zum besseren gewendet und so blieb es trueb und grau. Daher auch nur einTeilbild zum zeigen. Ich hoffe, dass ich beim naechsten Mal ein besseres Bild zeigen kann...
Somehow all of my kids love the needle cushion. I just have to say at the end the needles are again unsorted. When I finished the first table runner the weather was still grey and so the picture is horrible. Maybe I can make an other one the  next days to show you how lovely the colors are...

Das Binding besteht wieder aus meinem heissgeliebten dunkelblau. Leider ist das der letzte mit diesem tollen Rahmenstoff. Er ist nun endgueltig aus :( Fuer die naechsten beiden muss ich dann wohl eine andere Loesung finden. Jetzt bin ich mal gespannt, ob er gefaellt ...
For the binding I used again my loved dark blue (no, you can't really see it here) but I think this was the last time. The fabric is gone :( Now I am waiting if she likes it ...
